Heat: How to Stop the Planet from Burning
By George Monbiot
Considered by many to be one of the most important books ever written on Global Warming, Monbiot explains how we can beat the problems at hand and still live our lives. Calling for a 90% reduction in greenhouse gases by 2030, his plan is well thought out and his call to action is now. A must read for anyone concerned about the mounting problems of greenhouse gases.

I found this book profoundly depressing because I got the feeling that Monbiot didn't believe these steps were possible so it read like a fantasy.
I don't think it has to be fantasy, as I'm a lot more optimistic about technological advances than he was (solar power is edging closer to being able to supply consistent energy and limited air flight may prove to be sustainable in time).
